Although we are approaching the time when the days will be the shortest, in Slovenj Gradec we will tradicionally extend them with wonderful festive lighting decorations and different social events. An adequate program of events, a wide selection of many unique gifts, a various culinary delicacies and socializing with wonderful music in the background all call for the creation of new memories.

On the roundabout at the southern entrance to the city center, probably one of the most beautiful Advent wreaths in the area will shine for the third year in a row on the first Advent Sunday at 5 p.m. It impresses with its grandeur and appearance, which is provided by the tourist beautification association Šmartno pri Slovenj Gradec with the weaving of spruce branches, and with the decoration by the students and mentors of the School of Horticulture and Visual Arts Celje.

The city will shine in its festive decorations on the first day of December. Be with us as we enter the last month of the year, and above all at probably the most magical event, when Slovenj Gradec shines in all the glory of festive lights. The atmosphere, which you definitely should not miss, will be further enhanced by the musical group Fauš Dur, and from 3 p.m. onwards, a Christmas and New Year's fair will take place in the city center. The selection of gifts for others or for yourself will be numerous and varied, so you are invited to pick up products from creative individuals, artisans and providers of culinary delights and other unique gifts. At the event, you will also be able to indulge yourself outdoors with a festive offer of drinks and delicious cuisine, while at the same time, traditional "shopping under the lights" with many benefits will take place in the indoor spaces of the providers in the city center. The most eager children will be able to submit their letters to Santa Claus on this day as the letterbox will be placed next to the decorated tree in the city center.

In December, when we devote more time to socializing in the company of hot drinks, we also organize a Wolf coffee promotion every year. During the week from December 4 to 10, you will be able to try Wolf's coffee served in a special way at a festive price at selected providers (Ars Cafe mestna kavarna, Čajnica Peč and Slasčičarna Šrimpf).

The first of the good men - St. Nicholas - will delight the youngest with his entourage at Trg svobode on the eve of his name day, on Tuesday, December 5, at 5 p.m.

From December 8, the city center will be even more magical, as we are preparing festive decorations for you, which will provide a wonderful backdrop for creating memories and photos.

On December 21, we invite you to come together and have fun amongst good music, cuisine, creative gifts, festive lights ... There will be a variety of events in the city center from 3 p.m. onwards. You will have excellent opportunities for last-minute holiday shopping, as there will be a Christmas-New Year's fair, where many sellers will present themselves, and in the evening, the traditional "shopping under the lights" will take place. Shopping with the benefits prepared for you by providers in the city center will be even more fun accompanied by a musical duo Maraaya. At the event, you will also be able to spoil yourself with a festive offer of drinks and delicious cuisine. The atmosphere will be great and it will be a good time to get together with your friends and toast to a pleasant holiday before the days, which will mainly be devoted to the family.

On Christmas Day, the traditional Christmas-New Year's concert of the Slovenj Gradec Brass Band will take place in the sports hall, which is joined by an exceptional musical guest every year. The concert is also dedicated to the national holiday of Independence and Unity Day.

The youngest will end the year in the good company of Dedek Mraz and with a children's show by the Enostavno prijatelji Institute in the city center on Saturday, December 30, at 5 p.m. A little older, with an outdoor New Year's Eve party with the Okej ensemble on Sunday, December 31, at 9 p.m.

The varied festive events of December will occupy the city center of Slovenj Gradac again this year, so you are invited to feel the magical pulse with festive lighting and decorations, Christmas music and good company.
